Sometimes when applying (especially cummulative) patches, I get those messages offering me to "keep the current file" - I guess this means to skip applying the diff for this file, correct?

When does this happen? (it does not occur when applying v2v patches in order, but id DOES happen when applying cummulative patches - why?)

How is newer determined?
- file creation time?
- file version? (do text files have a version?)

Is it possible that diffs/patched are applied it a wrong order in a cummulative patch?

Can I find the reason by inspecting the output of the logwindow when creating cummulative patches?

Does anyone have had the same problems. Any hints/strategies to make cummulative patches work for sure?
